FAQs
What industries does PCS serve?
PCS serves the automotive industry on the OEM level as well as the aftermarket, Electrical Power Transmission, Custom wiring harnesses, Molded Circular plastic cable assemblies for the Sensor Industry, Industrial Welding cables and Custom plastic electrical interconnects.
What about the Lead-Free Initiatives being discussed?
PCS is working with our customers who require RoHS and WEEE compliance as well as European Union ELV compliance. These regulations are considered during the design phase and components are specified accordingly. Wire/cable, terminals and other components are generally compliant, Lead-Free solders are used when required. Certification statements are available upon request.
To what standards are MY assemblies made?
We will manufacture to your quality specifications. If none are provided, we will apply the same stringent standards that are used for the automotive industry. Our non-automotive customers products benefit in that we hold all of our products to automotive standards and practices. We also use UL and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards when applicable.
What about lead-times?
Lead-times can vary depending upon material availability, tooling requirements, etc. General production lead-times are 2 to 4 weeks. We prefer blanket orders with releases. We can also provide stocking programs such as Kanban and Consignment.
What type of product testing can PCS provide?
During the manufacturing process, several in-process checks are made for items such as contact to wire retention forces, weld peel and pull forces. Multiple circuit assemblies and over-molded assemblies are 100% electrically tested. Hi-pot testing is available for in-process assemblies, when practical.
During the design phase, for product Validation and Verification, examples of in-house testing are:
Static submersion Leak Test, Pressurized Mated connector leak testing, Mate/Unmate Cycle testing, Impact testing, Connector Separation Force, Over-mold Separation Force, and most electrical measurement data recording tests.
